8 Rescued After Boat Sinks Off Cape Cod

DENNIS (AP) — Coast Guard officials say they pulled eight people from waters off Cape Cod after their boat sank about 2 miles east of Dennis. No one was injured.

The Coast Guard says it received a distress call at about 1 p.m. Tuesday from people who said their 21-foot pleasure vessel was taking on water.

A 45-foot Coast Guard response boat that was in the area responded, and the crew safely pulled all eight people from the water. Their boat was completely submerged.

Officials say everyone was wearing a life jacket.

It's not clear why the boat sank.
