Boston Bruins signed 30-year-old defenseman Garnet Exelby just over a week ago to a one-year, two-way contract for $600,000 at the NHL level and $130,000 at the AHL level.
Exelby played 75 games last year with Detroit’s AHL team and netted seven goals and 14 assists with 177 penalty minutes. He’s played 408 NHL games with Atlanta and Toronto.
Exelby spoke with 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich about getting the chance to show that he has plenty left in the tank.
“I’m training my butt off here and I’m hoping to get into camp here and turn some heads; show the organization and coaching staff that I have plenty left to offer,” said Exelby.
Plus, the guys discussed what’s wrong with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Why does that team have trouble finding success?
