AVON (CBS) – A State Police cruiser was involved in a crash with another vehicle on Route 24 in Avon Tuesday afternoon.
The trooper was driving in the left lane when he noticed a disabled vehicle in the breakdown lane. The trooper moved into the middle lane and collided with a Saab.
State Police say the cruiser’s blue lights were on at the time of the crash.
Both the trooper and an 11-year-old child were taken to the hospital. The child, a passenger in the Saab, was injured when the airbag deployed.
