DORCHESTER (CBS) – Two men were killed and a third was wounded in a shooting in Boston’s South End early Monday morning.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Karen Twomey reports.
Gunshots were heard around 2:30 a.m., and when authorities arrived to the scene, they discovered a BMW near the corner of Herald Street and Shawmut Avenue.
Inside the BMW, officers found two men dead. A third man was taken to Tufts Medical Center and is expected to survive.
Police said two other people were in the BMW but fled the scene.
“There were two other individuals in the victim’s vehicle who fled the scene and have left before police arrived. We want to make sure they’re okay, and obviously we want to talk to them about what they saw and any information they have relative to this investigation,” said Superintendent Dan Linskey of the Boston Police Department.
Authorities believe the gunman fired the shots from a gray SUV with Rhode Island plates before fleeing the scene.
Police stopped a nearby street-sweeper to see if any evidence had been collected.
Officers also searched outside area buildings for possible surveillance cameras that may have captured the crime on tape.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
