Wednesday's Child: 12-year-old Rocky

BOSTON (CBS) - Rocky is a bright and caring 12-year-old Asian boy who enjoys staying busy.

Rocky tends to be quiet and reserved until he gets to know you a little better, but once he does, he is a very engaging child.

He speaks English, as well as some Khmer.

Rocky enjoys spending time with his foster family and their circle of friends. He loves being around other children and makes friends easily.

In his spare time, Rocky loves playing video games and sports, particularly football and basketball. Like many boys his age, Rocky has dreams of growing up to become a professional football player.

Rocky has recently become involved in Taekwondo and absolutely loves it. He also enjoys doing puzzles and playing Uno.

In school, Rocky can have difficulty remembering to complete his homework, but he is well-behaved in class and does not require an Individualized Education Plan. Rocky benefits from individual therapy to address his history of loss.

Legally free for adoption, Rocky would do well in a family of any constellation. The ideal family for Rocky will be supportive of his open adoption with his birth mother, and continued contact with his current foster family.

To learn more about Rocky, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.MAREinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
