Teen Girl Shot In Apparent Road Rage Incident On I-495 In Merrimac

MERRIMAC (CBS) - A 16-year-old girl from Maine was shot during an apparent road rage incident on I-495 northbound in Merrimac on Sunday.

At around 12:15 p.m., the girl was shot in the upper arm by the passenger of another vehicle. She was transported to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was hurt.

Authorities are looking for a white Honda Accord with tinted windows and red, white and blue license plates. The car was driven by a white female with sunglasses. Her passenger, the alleged gunman, was described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic male with short hair, a gray t-shirt and sunglasses.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident. They said traffic at the time of the shooting was heavy.
