CHATHAM (CBS) – A Great White shark was spotted just yards off the coast of Chatham on Saturday.
The Chatham Harbormaster confirmed that the fish was spotted just after 4 p.m. swimming about 100 yards off shore and about a quarter of a mile south of the entrance to Chatham Harbor.
Two tagged Great White sharks were detected off shore about a week-and-a-half ago.
It’s unclear if this was one of those two sharks.
The growing seal population in the area has been attracting great whites in recent years.
Officials remind swimmers and boaters in the area to keep their distance from any seals.
