Framingham Firefighter Charged In Drunk Driving Crash, Fight With Police

GLOCESTER, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island authorities say a Massachusetts firefighter has been charged with drunken driving and assaulting police after allegedly crashing his truck and fighting with two officers.

Fifty-one-year-old William Cline of Douglas, Mass., was ordered held on $2,500 bail Tuesday after being arraigned in District Court. Police say Cline is a full-time firefighter in Framingham, Mass.

Authorities say Cline crashed his pickup truck in Glocester early Tuesday morning. Police say Cline fought with two officers before being arrested. One of the officers was treated at a hospital for minor injuries.

Cline is also charged with refusing to submit to a chemical test, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct.

It's not clear if Cline has a lawyer. No one answered a phone listing for him Wednesday.
