BROCKTON (CBS) – Without notice the Metro South Athletic Club in Brockton has abruptly closed.
There was a sign on the front door of the large gym Tuesday morning that read, “It’s with great sadness and regret that we have been forced to close our doors.”
Disappointed members have been showing up to an empty gym throughout the day.
Member Bob Murphy was upset he was unable to retrieve his personal equipment from his locker.
“The funny thing about that is I paid for the locker then they cut those lockers open and removed my equipment. That’s essentially the same as stealing it because it’s unauthorized usage,” Murphy said.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Carl Stevens reports
There was no notice given and members are not happy.
Another member, who just signed up last week for a year long membership says he’s out $400.
It’s unclear whether the gym owners plan to reopen or whether they’ll face any charges.
