Breakthrough Sunshine

As a cold front continues its slow eastward movement and upper level ridging builds, sunshine will be making a breakthrough today! For areas outside of 495, sunshine will be the name of the game all-day long. However, the coastal plain will slowly see the sunshine breakthrough as the morning turns to afternoon. The sun will be slowest to make its appearance for Cape Cod/Islands later this afternoon/early evening. Onshore northeast winds will keep the coast on the cool side...60s.  As you head away from the coast, backyards will warm into the lower and middle 70s.

Due to the geographic location of the surface high and upper level ridge that's setting up shop across the East Coast, onshore winds will prevail through Father's Day weekend.  Here's how the Father's Day weekend will pan out...

Friday is going to be a gorgeous day and mild for interior locales as temperatures climb into the middle 70s.  The coast will remain in the 65-70F range.

Saturday will be sunny as well with temperatures flirting with 70F near the coast, while inland locales will be much warmer in the middle to upper 70s.

Father's Day Sunday will be another sunny day with highs reaching the upper 70s to near 80F inland...65-70F for the coast.

The dry stretch and warming trend will continue into the middle part of next week.

Beach and boating for the Holiday weekend look pleasant. Click on this link for the Father's Day weekend forecast.

Night sky observers--->In clear view, the night sky will be illuminated by the waning crescent moon along with the visibility of Jupiter and Venus.

One alarm clock away...
