Several Local Departments Honoring 'Firefighter Sunday'

Some departments are holding ceremonies while others are marking the day in their own quiet way.

Every year on the second Sunday in June, a number of fire departments hold memorial services to honor fallen firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Watertown Deputy Fire Chief Tom McManus said Sunday gave firefighters some time for reflection.

"It's always a nice thing. To me, I just always remember people that have gone before me that I have served with and then passed away and led our department and set a good example to us," said Dep. Chief McManus.
