HAVERHILL (CBS) – Haverhill Police have caught a copper thief that they thought was dead.

Late last month, someone tried to steal copper from a National Grid substation. The incident caused several thousand residents to lose power.

Police thought the thief got an electrical shock that they believed would be lethal. Now they say he survived, but the crime left its mark.

On Friday, police arrested Anthony Anzalone of Kingston, New Hampshire who had electrical burns on his body.
