Hundreds Of Westford Parents Mistakenly Told Kids Not At School

WESTFORD (CBS) - Hundreds of parents of elementary school students in Westford were incorrectly told their children had skipped class on Friday.

School officials say an errant phone message was accidentally sent out telling all parents of students at Abbot Elementary School that their kids were absent.

The school was testing a new phone application at the time.

Officials are apologizing "for the unnecessary alarm that this has caused," according to a statement on the school's website.

The school says the students are all are safe and in class.
