Celtics Gets Hawks In First Round Of NBA Playoffs

BOSTON (CBS) –The Boston Celtics are already resting their starters, but at least now they know who they'll be taking on when the NBA Playoffs begin next weekend.

The Celtics will face off against the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, but it is still unknown where Game 1 will be held.

The Celtics are the Atlantic Division champions and will be the number-four seed, but home-court advantage is still determined by overall record. Atlanta (38-26) is currently a game ahead of Boston (37-27) by way of record, but the Celtics do own the tiebreaker with a 2-1 record against the Hawks this season.

Both teams have two home games remaining in the final week of the season, with Boston hosting Miami and Milwaukee and the Hawks hosting the Clippers and Mavericks.

The Celtics won their first two meetings with the Hawks this season by a combined five points, dropping the final matchup on Friday with most of their starters on the bench.

The Celtics and Hawks have some recent playoff history, as the eighth-seeded Hawks taking the Celtics to seven games back in 2008. In that series, the home team won every game, with Boston winning Game 7 in a 99-65 blowout.
