Suspected Serial Bank Robber Arrested In Fall River After Chase

FALL RIVER (CBS) – A bank robbery suspect was involved in a crash after a chase with State Police and the FBI on Monday.

The suspect, 34-year-old Scott Niemic, is wanted for multiple robberies in Massachusetts and one in Warwick, Rhode Island.

He was taken into custody at gunpoint in Fall River after crashing at the intersection of High and Bedford Streets.

His car struck another vehicle and sideswiped a utility pole before coming to a stop.

The suspect allegedly hit two banks on Monday.

An FBI agent spotted Niemic in a Chrysler 300 on Route 24 in Raynham and contacted State Police who joined the pursuit.

Niemic suffered minor injuries and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital under police guard. He will be released to Warwick Police who have a warrant out for his arrest.
