WEBSTER (CBS) – A 90-year-old man was attacked when he confronted an intruder, according to Webster police.

The elderly man had just returned to his home on Oxford road around 7:30 a.m., when he discovered someone had broken into his home.

Officers say the victim confronted the masked intruder, who struck him in the face, knocked him down, and took his wallet.

The victim was able to contact 911 using his medical alarm. He did go to the hospital with minor injuries. He was treated and released.

Webster police were unable to find the suspect. He’s described as being around 6 feet tall, medium build and possibly wearing a trench coat.

They’re asking anyone with information to contact them.
