Newburyport Woman's New Non-Profit Raises Money For Kids In Ghana

NEWBURYPORT (CBS) - A Newburyport woman recently founded an organization that collects designer clothing and sells it to raise money for children in Africa.

Check: Clothes For Hope

Lauren Sundstrom recently took a trip to Ghana to work with orphans and spent time teaching children there.

She said she was amazed by the conditions and how so many have very little, including clothing.

So, she wanted to help.

Sundstrom founded Clothes For Hope, a non-profit organization, and collected 7,000 pieces of new and used designer clothing. All of it will be sold on Saturday.

Sundstrom got help from Converse, Katwalk Clothing, The Black Dog, French Lessons, T.J. Maxx and more.

Money raised from this sale will go to the kids in Ghana.
