‘Off Our Rockers’ Program Promotes Health In Gardner Schools

GARDNER (CBS) – At the Waterford Street School in Gardner, there is a great program called Off Our Rockers. It focuses on fitness and nutrition for students in kindergarten through third grade.

Currently, 120 students take part in the program.

Every Tuesday, they stay after school and exercise for 45 minutes. Then, they get a healthy snack including a whole grain, fresh vegetables and fruit.

The program is free operating entirely on volunteers and donations. It was developed as a step in the fight against childhood obesity.
