Police: Carjacker Walked Out Of Court, Carjacked Second Car

LOWELL (CBS) – A day after he was arraigned on carjacking charges, a Lowell man is back behind bars after police say he escaped court in handcuffs and carjacked a second person.

WBZ Newsradio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports

Twenty-five-year-old Adriano Ortiz-Columbo managed to leave the court house after his arraignment on Thursday on charges that include carjacking, assault and battery and failure to stop for police.

Police say he walked across the street and swiped an SUV from the Autozone parking lot.

Officers tracked him down a short time later.

He was hiding underneath a trailer when they rearrested him.

Ortiz-Columbo was arraigned on a new round of charges Friday.

He is being held without bail.

Police say because of his attempted escape and other charges, he could be looking at a lengthy prison sentence.

But this is MA and they know instead it will be more like two slaps on the wrist and a finger shake.

    1. Big Bear says:

Plus, he is probably an illegal.

      1. Tired says:

If he’s illegal, he’ll get a court appointed lawyer, new clothes for court, medical vouchers, housing subsidy paperwork for when he is released, a prepaid gas card, fast tracked citizenship, a democratic voter registration representative to vote for him, and last but not least, a hand written letter of apology from Barack Obama with an explanation from BO why the police are stupid, and an invitation to a beer summit at the White House.

    2. Kingfish says:

Sounds like the Judge was more stupid than he was for letting him go, with no jail time, But like you said MA is just another tool for Mohammed Obamma.

  2. Al says:

I doubt he’ll face ANY prison time. Obamao needs his vote come November.

    1. Obama out NOW says:

      I think it’s spelled “Obambo”.

Totally made up. Unelected officials took over Washington and the media after the coup and cover up. Even most of the comments online are financed with your tax dollars. Big brother is trying to create the perception of public opinion while burying the truth. They think you can’t handle the truth. Fact of the matter is we have no democracy, president, and freedom of press is an illusion.

Our next election is shaping up to be as big of a sham as the last. Do you know why Sarah Palin’s bus tour was really canceled? Do you know why she stayed 30 miles away from the second debate and chose the death of Steve Jobs to announce that she’s not running? Know what leaked out? Sarah Palin and Cain aren’t in the race for the same reason, the truth leaked out.

Search PalinsDirtyLittleSecret for the biggest cover up in world history before it disappears forever much like me.

    2. BikerBen says:

You mean in MA he can’t vote from his prison cell yet?

      1. kitta says:

        you’re thinking of RI lol

    3. Another Al says:

didn’t alot of his first term votes come out of the prison system?

    4. Dave the SEAL says:

      You must mean, OBOWMAO!

  3. Compassion for crime victims says:

Execute him when he is convicted. We need to get tough on crime in this country if we want people to obey the laws. Three strikes and you are dead – that should be our policy. Two strikes and you have a mandatory 10 years i prision.

    1. Albert says:

Stealing a car = Death Penalty?

      This is not Iran.

  4. Dave says:

Just be careful and don’t ask for an ID or if he is a citizen. That might violate his constitutional rights to violate the life and property of the people that forced themselves in his path. They used to be known as victims, but in recent years we have learned from the left they were just asking for it. A ‘BAIT CAR’ participant said it all the other day, “I didn’t do nothing to nobody, the keys were in it!”.

Have any of the readers of this report, ever watched “the first 48”? Do you notice a familiar theme to that show? Every single show, every suspect, can usually be identified on the police data base, with just a street name, AKA “little wiener”. That is because 95% of the suspects are repeat offenders, usually with a nice long rap sheet.

Can someone please explain to me why our justice system believes that it has EVER rehabilitated anyone. The word rehabilitate means that the individual was once good, and just turned bad. Wrong, they were always bad, from birth to their eventual death, they have always been, and will always be, a drain on society. We need to wake up, and start treating these offenders early, with severe punishments. No more cable TV, certainly no gym’s that rival those of 100 dollar a month private businesses, so they can get stronger and more dangerous, while attending the “college of criminal behavior”. No more internet, no books, no letters, don’t even give them flavorful food. Grits, that should be the meal, 3 times a day, nothing more, EVER.

In the US, crime does pay, sadly, many inmates have better living conditions than many of our Veterans, that is sickening on so many levels, our country is broken, it has lost it’s way. We better find it fast, or lose it forever.

Just a guess, but have they checked this mans status as a resident of the United States, or would that “offend” some liberal?

    1. Big Bear says:

Agreed. The criminal brain is not wired the way ours our. The criminal thinks of only two things: ME and NOW.

Bring back slave labor camps. That way, the criminals can be of some use instead of rotting in 8x8s. It would also create a cheaper market for our bling than China or 3rd World nations.

    2. Todd says:

Yes, I did notice a familiar theme with almost every suspect but it was not his name. I, of course, can not mention what it was or I would end up being labeled. Oh well. I do agree with your entire post. We better wake up by November or we are done as a country.

    3. Richard says:

Your real name Joe Apraio by any chance?

      1. Richard says:

        Arpaio

      2. Stalker6Recon says:

No, but thanks for the compliment. My name is Anthony, and I am sick and tired of a justice system that is completely out of control. Revolving doors, putting predators back out on the street, sometimes with in months of sentencing on a violent crime, it is pathetic at best, and third world at worst.

I now live in the Philippines, where I have no expectations from law enforcement, except to maybe ask for a hand out, or graft, if I give them the opportunity, which I try to avoid. I know that the murderers here go free, So I know that I need to be careful. In the US, you should have no need to be careful, because the wicked should be removed from society, but the false sense of security we get, from lying politicians, has created a more hostile and dangerous environment, even more than here in the Philippines, now that is truly pathetic.

    4. max says:

Lower the bar on capital punishment. A second conviction for a violent felony should get you the needle or better yet a public execution.

  6. Spanky says:

The second car jacking “victim” could only have been elderly frail woman, letting a handcuffed unarmed scumbag steal your wheels is just plain embarrassing.

  7. BrunoT says:

Yes, in most of America apparently your first carjacking is free. Your second one is free. But if you escape from them and make them look bad you may do some real time. Because everyone knows carjacking isn’t serious, right?

    1. Danny says:

I agree with you 100%. I can see someone that commits a crime of opportunity due to economic sercumstances, they may be rehabilitated, but these guys that are from the “hood”, that’s their “badge of honor”. Grits, three times a day for two years will make anyone think twice about going back into the slammer. They’re not in prison to have a good time, they’re there to be punished for breaking the rules.

  8. Chuck says:

He was only “holding” the car for somebody! What, you got a beef with that?

  9. luckydog says:

    Liberals: reap what you sowed!

  10. iambicpentamaster says:

“Police say because of his attempted escape and other charges, he could be looking at a lengthy prison sentence.”

And after early release he will quickly jack another car.

To see who’s enabling criminals, look to the Obama Regime’s Open Borders, liberal judges, and fat, lazy court bailiffs and jailers.

  11. kcsparky says:

Long prison term in “Kennedyville”? You gotta be kidding. Word on the street is that with all of the progressive liberals in Massachusetts, not even babys are allowed to be kept in playpens.

  12. Chad says:

He was probably overwhelmed at the prospect that he could be prohibited from voting for Obama due to imprisonment.

  13. roughman says:

Say… You don’t suppose he was an ILLEGAL ALIEN, do you???

  17. S0C7 says:

Eric Holder will pardon him since he’s obviously a victim of White racism.

  18. Don says:

This guy needs to get put away forever. Or deported. But couldn’t the cops have the decency to cover him better? You never see a female prisoner walked out in her underwear. No decency for guys.

  22. TMA1 says:

They will NOT lock this guy up for any length of time unless he can pay. If there is NO MONEY in it for the Judicial System thier is NO Pentaly.

  23. carlb says:

as usual the pc crowd failed to mention whether he was a illegal. i mean if you brazenly do what he did somthing else is going on. my guess the doj will step in and get him pardoned since obama needs every vote leagal or otherwise. angry americans are drooling to get to the voting booth in nov

  24. tim says:

  26. DarkStarAz says:

Hey Mass, welcome to Arizona – Highest rate of SUV theft on the planet!
Why should drug cartels pay for SUV’s – to smuggle weed, meth and people into the US, stopping off to purchase AK47s on their way back into Mexico -when they can just steal them from Arizonan’s and Nevadans! Actually since Bush put ICE into place, plus the heavy handed tactics of Sherrif Joe Arpaio crime is going DOWN DOWN DOWN. So there is one thing I can thank the republicans for.

    1. Dave the SEAL says:

You can thank them for lower taxes and secure borders once we kick the Kenyan a s s clown out of office.

He should claim ILLEGAL ALIEN status like Obama’s uncle and auntie have done! Then he’ll get some serious breaks, free housing, food stamps, etc.

HANG HIM HIGH like we used to do to horse thieves. Carjackers are no different.

  29. gunzRus says:

Lucky for him he did this in a state that tolerates escaping and carjacking…over here in Pennsyltucky the headlines would read “funeral services tomorrow…”

  30. Chef says:

Folks…….wake up, our “laws” are only there to punish those of us who choose to follow them, all others are “deemed” as victims of an oppressive society! Go ahead, fish without a license and watch what happens to “Johnny Law Abider”, but be Ye Illegal, Muslim, Minority..”pay no attention, “these are not the droids your looking for” . We as Americans are being attacked on every front, “speed cams, Red light Cams, Street Cams, Light bulb laws…..etc……..but if only you were “illegal”, or the (perceived) afflicted minority…you just go free…………
