Report: Safety Steve Gregory To Visit Patriots

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots remained quiet amid the free-agent frenzy on Tuesday, but it looks as though they're getting started on Wednesday.

The team will host free-agent safety Steve Gregory, according to Kevin Acee of The San Diego U-T. NESN.com's Jeff Howe confirmed Gregory's visit, adding that the free agent won't arrive in Foxborough until late Wednesday and that five teams, including the Chargers, are interested.

Gregory, 29, has spent his entire six-year career with the Chargers. Aside from a four-game suspension in 2010 for a performance-enhancing drug violation, he's been reliable, playing in an average of 15 games in his other five seasons.

In the past three seasons, he's recorded 182 tackles and two sacks, while adding four interceptions.
