MSPCA Increases Reward In Dog Killings Case

NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – The MSPCA says donations have been pouring in after news that two family dogs were shot execution style in New Bedford.

MSPCA spokesman Rob Halpin says the story touched a nerve. He tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030 the response has been so overwhelming that they’ve been able to increase the reward from $1,000 to $6,000 for information in the case.

Investigators are already combing through dozens of tips.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Laurie Kirby reports

A pedestrian found the 5-year-old Chihuahua shot in the head, and 14-year-old golden retriever shot twice in the back through to the chest February 13th.

Anyone with information can call the MSPCA at 1-800-628-5808.
