Fairy Dog Parents Help Find Pets A Good Home

BOSTON (CBS) - Sometimes dog owners have to turn their pets in to shelters.

In some cases, the owner may be losing their home, or they just can't afford to care for the dog anymore.

Fairy Dog Parents started three years ago and in that time they've rescued 234 dogs across Massachusetts.

WBZ-TV's Jonathan Elias reports

The group pairs pets with families that can care for them.

For example, they took in a therapy dog named Skywalker who needed surgery to repair a hole in his heart.

If not for FDP, he would have been put down.

The Duxbury group took him in and now he's slated to be a therapy dog for an autistic boy.
