Groundhog Day 2012

There are many clubs that we don't want to be a part of, but the 60F degree club is not one of them. At least, I don't think so!  We are talking about towns and cities that reached the 60F degree mark yesterday afternoon. Wow! A grand entrance made by the month of February!

Every year, we sit on the edges of our seats as we await Punxsutawney Phil's 126th winter prognostication...6 more week of winter?  Okay, maybe we aren't 'chomping at the bit', but it's a day to break up the monotony of winter. However, unless you're a winter weather enthusiast, this winter has been a 'breeze'.  I wonder what Phil is predicting is for Super Bowl 46? I know my prediction! :)

Skies will start with high and mid-level clouds before low clouds dominate this evening. Sky cover will become overcast this evening and remain mostly cloudy tonight.  Highs will be much cooler today as we climb into the upper 30s and lower 40s. Overnight tonight, there may be a few ocean-effect flurries and snow showers, mainly for the Cape/Islands.

Friday will be a sunshiny day with scattered clouds, but it will be even cooler with high temperatures in the upper 30s due to a secondary shot of cold air.

Super Bowl weekend will be uneventful and rather cold. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the middle to upper 30s. Sunday will be just as cold with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of a few flurries (north and west) during the first half of the day. This slight chance of a few flakes is due to a an upper level trough/surface low diving from the northwest.

Early next week is still looking pretty quiet besides a squeeze play scenario providing a chance for rain/snow showers Monday night through Tuesday morning.

Ready for the Super Bowl?

One alarm clock away...~Melissa :)
