Bruins Fan Gets Into It With Tampa Bay Mascot

BOSTON (CBS) – The Boston Bruins are known as a physical bunch on the ice, and apparently their fans are the same off it.

A man in a Bruins Stanley Cup Champion T-Shirt at Tuesday’s game against the Lightning in Tampa Bay did not take too kindly to their mascot, Thunderbug, spraying him with silly spray.

After getting sprayed, the fan stood up and shoved Thunderbug. He was grabbed by security and escorted out, but had a few words with Thunderbug on his way.

The Bruins lost Tuesday’s game 5-3. The Bruins and Lightning played in the Eastern Conference Finals last season, with the Bruins winning in seven games in dramatic fashion.

I see a man defending himself after a clear case of battery. You can’t spray anything on somebody who does not want it done. To sneak up behind someone and do it while they are a paying customer makes it even worse. Tampa Bay should refund this man’s money and then give him free luxury box tickets to the next Bruins game there. That way an over zealous mascot can’t harass an innocent unsuspecting paying customer.

the mascott shouold have gotten a 5 minute major and a game misconduct. or at the very least an interference penalty for stopping a fan from watcing the game.

if the response to comments against bruins fans, if lightning fans, get a life. i am a 40 fan and i would have shoved that can up his a##. tampa rays,, tampa lightning can thank there lucky stars that boston fans on vacation or relocated,show up at your games, thats the only time you gey any decent attendance at all. look for both of the franchises to relocate for bad attendance.
