BOSTON (CBS) – Former Boston College football player Billy Flutie can add “life saver” to his resume.
On Wednesday, Flutie applied a life-saving Heimlich Maneuver to assist a man who was choking on food at a local Applebee’s restaurant. While having lunch near the Boston College campus, Flutie noticed another patron was choking and rushed to his aid, dislodging a piece of chicken that was stuck in the man’s throat.
A Natick native, Billy is the nephew of former BC football stars Doug and Darren Flutie. He played wide receiver for the Eagles from 2007 through 2010.
Following his graduation, Flutie has been working for the BC Athletics Department as a game operations assistant.
