Two Teens Charged In Amesbury Crime Spree

AMESBURY (CBS) - Thousands of dollars worth of GPS systems, iPods, cell phones, cameras and more were all stolen from cars.

A couple of teenagers are charged with the break-ins.

Investigators say the two boys went on a Christmas Eve crime spree on Arlington Street in Amesbury.

WBZ-TV's Ken MacLeod reports

Charles Anderson made an assortment of faces while Jake Pereira played it straight in court as the pair faced charges from the break-in bonanza.

Greg Dollas was among those who got bad news in their Amesbury driveways Saturday morning.

His wallet, DVD player, Christmas gifts, and camera were swiped from his car.

Prosecutors say victims made it easy for Anderson and Pereira to steal thousands of dollars in electronics because they left their doors unlocked.

The pair allegedly discarded unwanted booty and wrapping paper on the side of the road.

When they came across a truck with the keys inside, they allegedly stole it.

A witness saw the suspects dump the truck not far from the apartment where both were caught after Anderson tried to jump from a window and Pereira kicked an officer.

Police say victims are still stepping forward to claim their stolen stuff.

Greg Dollas already has his camera back and police were quite interested in several new photos on it. The suspects apparently took pictures of themselves in action.

The judge set bail at $5,000 cash.
