When firefighters arrived, they found the house on Heritage Lane fully engulfed in flames.

No one was home at the time, as Jim Schipani and his family were vacationing in Vermont for the holiday.

After he arrived at the home later on Monday, Schipani cried because he knew that if he, his wife, and three kids, hadn't been in Vermont, this could've been tragic.

Especially troubling was how the fire ripped through the bedroom of his 7-year-old son.

"That's right about where his bed was," Schipani said. "And I'm not sad, I'm telling ya, it's a material thing. it was a nice house, but it's a material thing. We'll rebuild it, and we could have had a lot worse happen."

There was no word on the cause of the fire. Nobody was hurt.
