Man Wanted For Child Rape In Tennessee Arrested In Fall River

FALL RIVER (CBS) – A man wanted for rape of a mentally disabled child in Tennessee has been arrested in Fall River.

57-year-old Matthew Roberts was taken into custody while he was entering a vehicle outside 1347 Locust Street. United States Marshals say Roberts had been living at that address.

He was booked at the Fall River Police Department as a Fugitive From Justice and held without bail. He was transferred to the Ash Street Jail in New Bedford by U.S. Marshals.

    That’s what the actual charge is. It’s ugly teminology by todays standards but the law was likely written in the first half of the 20th century.
