Boston Baby Born 3 Months Premature Goes Home For Christmas
BOSTON (CBS) - Friday was a big day for nine-month-old Romeo Cooper. He has overcome many challenges, and his parents' prayers have been answered.
"I still can't believe it, I'm holding him and the stuff is in the car, I can't believe we are living, I'm really happy and this is a great gift," his mother Renee Cooper said. Romeo was born three months early weighing only one and three-quarters pounds with severe under-developed lungs.
For months now, he's been living off a ventilator and getting care at Franciscan Hospital for Children.

"I was scared to touch him he was so tiny. He was holding on to my finger here saying 'dad I'm going to make it', so that made me feel good and he had the will to survive,"' Romeo's dad Vincent Moore said.
But with a lot of faith, love and care Romeo is doing much better and going home just two days before Christmas.
"Romeo is doing fantastic. He breathes on his own. He is still working on eating by mouth, but I imagine when he goes home that will pick up," Dr. David Leslie of Franciscan Hospital for Children said.
With a lot of smiles, mom, dad and baby Romeo left the hospital Friday afternoon and drove home to Dorchester.
