Patriots Place Andre Carter On IR, Sign Cedric McKinley
FOXBORO (CBS) - You knew this was going to be the case, but you just did not want to hear it.
The Patriots have placed DE Andre Carter on injured reserve. His season is over.

Carter was the Pats best pass rusher this season and he was arguably the team's best and most consistent defensive player.
He started all 14 games for the Pats and had 59 tackles and 10 sacks. He was also named AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his four-sack performance earlier this year against the Jets.

Simply put, Carter will be missed.
In his place, the Pats have signed Cedric McKinley. He is a rookie free agent out of Minnesota.
