A man walking his dog discovered the body and called police.

Brosnahan was employed by the Bedford Police Department from July 1 1972 until January 2, 2000.

Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno released a statement saying, “Our concern now is with the Brosnahan family. Such an action, if proven to be true, does not reflect on the fine tradition of the Bedford Police Department.”
