Mom Wins Essay Contest For School That Is Slated For Closure
KENNEBUNK, MAINE (CBS) - Ann Charlton from Kennebunk entered an essay contest and won.
The beneficiary of the $5,000 prize money is the Sea Road School that is slated for closure.
Her essay was about her work introducing science, technology, engineering and math into the community.
WBZ-TV's Jonathan Elias reports
She's doing this by using Lego to teach young kids including her kids.
The story gets better.
Now she could be in line for a $10,000 grant for a national contest.
Again the money will go to the school.
The hope is to get all that attention so the school won't close.
