Pirates Sign Erik Bedard
BOSTON (CBS) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to sign starting pitcher Erik Bedard, according to multiple reports.
Bedard was acquired by the Red Sox at the trade deadline last season from the Seattle Mariners, going 1-2 with a 4.03 ERA in eight starts. The lefty went 5-3 with a 3.62 ERA overall in 2011.
Bedard was not offered arbitration by Boston, so they will not receive any compensation for his departure.
