Chung, McCourty Inactive Against Chiefs

By Levan Reid, WBZ-TV Sports

FOXBORO (CBS) – Here are the Patriots players inactive for tonight’s game against the Chiefs:

Patrick Chung         S

Jeff Tarpanian          LB

Dane Fletcher         LB

Devin McCourty       CB

Kevin Faulk            RB

Brandon Spikes       LB

Ryan Mallett           QB

Chung practiced this week but he is not ready.  Sterling Moore and Antwaun Molden will get more playing time in the Patriots defensive backfield.

Faulk was upset this week, now it comes out that he’s not in the game plan.  Maybe the Pats will finally use Shane Vereen. The rookie back was out on the field running early.  It’s possible he can get some run.

On a side note, the Patriots signed safety Ross Ventrone to the 53-man roster again. Making it transaction number 16 on the season. To make room for Mr. Transaction, New England released offensive lineman Donald Thomas.

Tune in to the Patriots-Chiefs Monday Night showdown on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Pregame coverage begins at 5 pm, and after the game tune in to the postgame show on 98.5, and Patriots Fifth Quarter on My TV38.
