Mitt Romney Attacks President Obama In First TV Ad

BOSTON (CBS) - Former Bay State Governor Mitt Romney is acting like the race for president is already down to two.

Romney plans to launch his first television ad of his presidential campaign Tuesday. In it, he attacks President Barack Obama and accuses him of not being able to follow through on campaign promises to fix the nation's economy. He uses footage and quotes of then-candidate Obama during his early campaign stops in New Hampshire.

Romney's ad does not mention any other contenders for the GOP nomination.

WBZ-TV's Jim Armstrong reports

Voters in the Granite State are mixed over whether or not President Obama can win here in 2012, as he did four years ago.

Mister Obama will be in New Hampshire as well on Tuesday, but it's not a campaign stop.

Instead, he'll be visiting a Manchester high school and making his push for an extension of the payroll tax cut.
