Gronk Talks No Huddle On Toucher & Rich

BOSTON (CBS) - The New England Patriots beat the Jets on Sunday night and prepare to battle the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who had two touchdowns against the Jets, and joined Toucher & Rich to talk about the win, the upcoming game against the Chiefs and playing on short rest.

Against the Jets, Gronkowski was defended by the best corner in the league in Darrelle Revis. Judging by his performance, the matchup did not bother Gronk, who was not thinking about who was covering him during the game.

"I mean you're not really thinking like who's on you at the moment when you're out there, but he's definitely a good player," Gronkowski said.

One thing the Patriots do better than anyone else is the no huddle offense. After struggling in the first half, New England switched to the no huddle and handled the Jets. Do they plan on a game being no huddle heavy ahead of time or is it decided on the fly?

"Basically it's all decided on the fly, I mean you never know how the game is going to go," said Gronkowski. "If you're huddling and it's working every play and everything, I mean you really don't have to go to the no huddle. If you want to switch it up (and) do a little the no huddle to get the offense moving, get the defense on their toes, you switch it up a little bit. So it's in the flow of the game."

Gronkowski has 18 touchdown catches in his career so far, and is putting up great numbers for young tight end. What were his expectations coming into the league, and has he exceeded them this early in his career?

"You just want to come in and help out the team and work as hard as you can; get the playbook down and everything and every practice just go out there and try to get better," said Gronkowski. " (I) definitely exceeded expectations I feel like with myself, but I mean you got to stay humble. You got to keep on working and everything's in the past now. You got to keep on grinding and keep working ever single week."

The Jets play the Broncos Thursday night, after just playing on Sunday night. The Patriots had to do this last season, listen to what Gronk had to say about playing with short rest.
