Accused Danvers Murderer Told Neighbors "Aliens" Were Killing People

DANVERS (CBS) - A 24-year-old Danvers man has been charged with killing his father.

Police received a 911 call at 10:24 a.m. Saturday from a neighbor on Auburn Street.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Kim Tunnicliffe reports.

When officers arrived, they found 60-year-old John Anastasi dead.

Officers arrested Stephen Anastasi on Saturday at the home that the two men had shared.

WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports.

Neighbors said Stephen had been acting strangely that morning.

"He just said, 'The aliens are killing people in the neighborhood.' That's what he said," said Peter Walters, a neighbor.

Investigators are waiting for an autopsy to be completed before determining the cause of death.

The District Attorney's office expects to release more information once Anastasi is arraigned on Monday in Salem District Court.
