BOSTON (CBS) – Apparently, some people have money to burn.

Three of the top five most expensive condos that have been sold in Boston this year were all in the Mandarin Hotel on Boylston Street.

That includes two penthouses that went for $13.2 million and $5.4 million!

That $13.2 million home has only one bedroom.

The third most expensive condo was on 45-47 Commonwealth Avenue in the Back Bay.

That went for $6.2 million, but at least you get six bedrooms for the price.

A four-bedroom in the Ritz tower one went for $5.6 million.

BuyWithMe has just been sold.

The Boston-based daily deals web site was acquired by a luxury discount site called Gilt City.

It comes after BuyWithMe cut its workforce by more than half its staff just last month.

Gilt told the Boston Globe it’s looking to expand here in Boston, and will hire almost two dozen employees from BuyWithMe.

And, after 102 years in business, Filene’s Basement will now liquidate all of its remaining 21 stores by January.

They’re going to get what they can out of the holiday shopping season. But it looks like the brides have run for the last time.

The company says, in the end, strong competition and online retailers were just too much.
