Canton Issues Boil Water Order For E. Coli

CANTON (CBS) – The town of Canton is under a boil water order after samples tested positive for E. coli.

The town is telling residents to not drink water without boiling it first. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.

The town has begun flushing water mains and chlorinating the system.

The Canton Water Department anticipates resolving the problem within 48 hours.
