Right Place, Right Time, Researchers Spot 60 Right Whales Off The Cape

BOSTON (CBS) – Researchers from New England Aquarium were out surveying earlier this week when they came across quite a sight.

They estimate seeing about 60 endangered Right whales in Cape Cod Bay. Half of them were spotted within a single square nautical mile.

“There were whales everywhere we looked, in all different directions and distances,” the researchers said on the aquarium’s blog.

Only about 400 Right whales are thought to inhabit the Atlantic Ocean.
