Police Probe Harvard Grad Student's Death In RI

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Rhode Island authorities are investigating the death of a Harvard University graduate student they say may have suffered a fatal head injury in a fall.

Police say they do not have any evidence suggesting the death of 31-year-old Kolajo Paul Afolabi, who lived in Providence, is suspicious.

Providence police Lt. George Stamatakos said Afolabi was last heard from at 9 a.m. Wednesday when he went for his daily run.

Stamatakos said a passerby found him about 45 minutes later.

Stamatakos said Afolabi was reported missing to police at about 11:10 p.m. Wednesday. He was identified Thursday by his family.

Harvard spokesman Michael Rodman said Afolabi was a doctoral student in the Graduate School of Education. Brown University spokesman Mark Nickel said Afolabi became an adjunct lecturer in the education department this semester.
