Arrest Made In Murder Of South Boston Grandmother

BOSTON (CBS) – Boston police arrested a 25-year-old man on Thursday in the death of a 65-year-old grandmother from South Boston.

Police charged Adam Joseph Cassino with the murder of Barbara Tagen.

Back on Aug. 27, Tagen’s body was found in a home on Dorchester Street. Autopsy results showed she died due to blunt force trauma.

WBZ-TV’s Bill Shields reports

Tagen was a social worker, and helped many people get their lives back on track. Police say when she tried to help Cassino, it backfired and he ended up killing her.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Lana Jones reports.

Cassino was arraigned Thursday in South Boston District Court. He is being held without bail.
