ROXBURY (CBS) – A five-year-old boy was found alone sleeping in an elevator in Roxbury late Wednesday night.

WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Carl Stevens reports

A paramedic carried the boy out of the elevator at the Atkins Apartment complex on Blue Hill Avenue and took him to the hospital as a precaution.

WBZ-TV’s Paul Burton reports

Investigators say they had a hard time waking him because he was in such a deep sleep.

He is OK, but authorities have not found his parents.

There was no one home at the boy’s apartment. His identity has not yet been released, and it’s not clear as to why he was in the elevator.

He is now in state custody.
