Police Say DYS Residents Attacked Staff Members In Boston

BOSTON (AP) -- State police said three staffers at a Department of Youth Services facility in Boston have been injured after six male teen-aged residents attacked them.

State police spokesman David Procopio said the staff members were assaulted in a common area in a locked unit.

Two of the staff members were transported to Boston Medical Center and the third to Faulkner Hospital, all with minor injuries.

None of the residents were injured.

Procopio said a preliminary investigation shows that the residents used only fists.

No charges have been filed and no names have been released.
