Mass. Awards Scholarships To Children From Military Families

BOSTON (CBS) - Nine students, whose families have made a tremendous sacrifice, are getting something back.

On Wednesday, they received scholarship checks today from the State Treasurer's office and the Military Friends foundation.

Each student has a parent or guardian in the military who has been deployed at some point since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The checks are for $1,000 each.
