Report: Patriots Sign Former Jets DE Shaun Ellis

FOXBORO (CBS) - The Patriots are set to sign former Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis to a one-year deal, according to reports.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the deal will be completed Sunday pending a physical.

Ellis had been offered a one-year deal by the Jets for the veteran minimum of $910,000. Ellis likely will make a little more with the Patriots, but terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The veteran spent 11 years with the Jets after they took him in the first round of the 2000 draft (Tom Brady was taken by the Patriots in the sixth round of that draft). He's third on the Jets' all-time list with 72.5 career sacks.

He starred in the Jets' 28-21 win over the Patriots in last year's playoffs, finishing with two sacks.
