NH Mom Charged With Using Gun To Steal Teen’s Bike

MANCHESTER, NH (CBS) – A 40-year-old New Hampshire woman has been charged with robbing a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint in a dispute over a bicycle.

Officers say the teenager was riding a friend’s bike on Ash Street in Manchester, NH.

At one point, the friend’s neighbor, 40-year-old Kelley Feeley came out of her apartment and accused the girl of stealing the bike from her daughter.

Witnesses told police that Feeley demanded she be allowed to inspect bicycle.

When the girl denied that she stole the bike and refused to hand it over, police say Feeley pulled a gun, pointed it at the girl’s neck, and took the bike.

Officers later seized the disputed bicycle from Feeley’s apartment along with several guns.

Feeley is charged with robbery.

Another feel ggo story from the “Live Free or Die” state. What’s with all the guns?

    • John

I am a gun owner and I would never point a weapon at a person unless my life was in danger.

      • Anthony

Guns are to protect your life or the life of another from an imminent threath. 14 year old girl on a bike seems to fall in the category of the least harmful person in the world.

      • Ornley Gumfudgen

I don’t carry a gun ta show it off, feel superior, steal somethang, take revenge on someone, intimidate someone or any of them macho thangs ya see people doin with em. I carry it only fer my personal defense or th personal defense of someone else who lacks th means ta defend themselves.

I also don’t pull it out an wave it about unless I have th need ta KILL someone that is attemptin ta intimidate an possibly kill someone else with a gun. If I get ta th point whair my gun comes out it’s because all other alternatives have been exhausted an if that happens someone, me or th assailant that has elected ta use a gun inappropriately ta solve a problem is headed ta th coroners office.

Fer th use of a gun is a life or death situation an if I get ta th point whar I have ta use it fer somethan other than recreational practice ta stay proficient, someone is gonna die. I don’t fire warnin shots an play around with it. If I have ta use it at all against a livin thang that thang is gonna die or I am gonna die. Thair ain’t no other alternative.

Walk softly but carry a big stick. An if ya have ta use that stick then do it with finality. Ain’t no other reason ta use a gun against another human. .

Good thing theres no guns in New York or Chicago, and other areas with strict gun control, sure has a huge impact on the crime rate in areas with a lot of you know what. Why is it you ignore facts when there is proof that stricter gun control leads to more crime?

      • Calvin

I lived in Chicago and the crime is awful and the people who are innocent have no way to protect themselves! Someone attempted to mug me, luckily, he was unarmed and I beat him down but seriously? Now I live in Texas and I can protect myself. Yay for freedom!

      • Matt Filipczuk

Calbin-Are you saying having no guns endangered your life? Shockin, I can’t believe criminals can obtain guns illegally. I heard once that criminals even break into houses and STEAL guns!!! Then that resident has no gun and the thief has a gun… can you believe that? Liberals can’t so it must not be true

      • Rob J.

Gun control only works for people who follow the law.

      • Tom

There’s no crime in Chicago and N.Y cities. The liberals outlawed crime so how can there possibly be any?

    Okay, okay…………GOOD!!!!!!

Curious…..Was the bike in question her daughter’s?

    • http://stevesaleeba.wordpress.com stevesaleeba

unclear. police report referred to it as “the disputed bike”

    • Ornley Gumfudgen

Makes no difference at all. Is a bike worth killin someone fer or threatenin ta kill em?

Guns are not th problem, it’s idiots like this that thank guns are th answer ta thair problems.

      Throw th book at her.

Now if th girl assaulted was attemptin ta kill her with a gun then she had th right ta defend herself. But in that scenario this would now be a murder investigation as someone rightfully should be dead an th person remainin standin on trial ta see if th killin was justified.

Guns should never be used ta solve social disputes. They were never intended fer that.

    “Feeley is charged with robbery”

Isn’t it “armed robbery” if a weapon is involved in the crime?

    • http://stevesaleeba.wordpress.com stevesaleeba

Sully, yeah it should be, but I’m going off specifically what police told us. They did not say “armed” robbery.

    What HAVE we come to?

  • Yirmin

Real question is whether the bike was in fact stolen from the woman’s daughter…. if it was then there was no robbery simply a citizen doing what the police will not do – protect citizens’ property.

    • stloony

You raise a good point….sort of. We would need to know if she took the legal route first.

looks like a prettier version of the modern Kathleen Turner from marley.

the asshat on the bike met the asshat who own the bike, simple, unass the bike, and when you produce a bill of sale, call a cop. case closed

      • Yirmin

The legal route if someone steals your bike is, “you can come down to the police station and fill out a form.”

The police don’t bother doing anything if something as trivial as a bike is stolen, there is no money to be made by the police station… now drive 1 mph over the limit and they will be on you like democrats on a bribe.

    • mike124

Story says “the teenager was riding a friend’s bike.” No reason to think it was the gun-totin’ mother’s daughter’s bike.

Even if it was her daughter’s bike, it’s still absolutely insane to pull a gun on a 14-year-old girl over a bike.

The only good from this story is that illegal guns were removed from this maniac’s house. Children riding their own bikes and enjoying their own property are a lot safer today.

      • live free

Who says the guns were illegal? You know, it is possible to legally own a gun. The article does not state she could not.

With a face like that a gun is overkill…

Useless meth heads robbing girls, yet another violation of our rights. Add it to the list of gov’t violations of our rights:
They violate the 1st Amendment by placing protesters in cages, banning books like “America Deceived II” and censoring the internet.
They violate the 2nd Amendment by confiscating guns.
They violate the 4th and 5th Amendment by molesting airline passengers.
They violate the entire Constitution by starting undeclared wars for foreign countries.
Impeach Obama, vote for Ron Paul.
