Report: Chad Ochocinco Traded To Patriots

FOXBORO (CBS) – Enigmatic wide receiver Chad Ochocinco has been traded to the Patriots for two draft picks, according to multiple reports.

CBS Affiliate WKRC in Cincinnati first reported the news. ESPN’s John Clayton says that Ochocinco has accepted a restructured three-year deal with the Patriots.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Patriots are sending “two late draft picks” – one in 2012, and one in 2013.

Ochocinco was slated to earn $6.35 million in the last year of his deal with the Bengals.

first haynesworth and now this!! 2 head cases. very disappointed. rather that the pats had made an offer to the bc player herzleich, now he is someone with a proven track record of class, dedication and courage. 2 selfish prima donas. they better have major conduct definition clauses in their contracts, or pay me some bucks to administer what no doubt will be frequent dope slaps.

@pats fan in ny. I didnt like haynseworth pick up either but ochocinco has stated before how much he likes belichick and the worst thing he does off the field is his show. I personally love ochocinco I think hes hilarious and will bring even more entertainment to this team.

Bill Belichick must think he’s Father Flannigan. I don’t know what the Pats are thinking.

Meanwhile, in the Nation’s Capitol, fans of the professional football franchise are celebrating the departure of Albert Haynesworth. I can only hope he uses that to motivate himself.

I dont like the haynesworth pick either – he doesnt have his head in the game on OR off the field. Chad is different; as someone else pointed out, he loves the game and his off field antics can be curbed for the three yr contract he signed. everyone was so apprehensive about Moss and he worked out great for the first two years… hard to expect more than that these days .
