BOSTON (CBS) – Hours before severe storms swept through Central and Western Massachusetts Tuesday, Governor Deval Patrick was out touring damage from last month’s tornadoes.
The governor visited Sturbridge, six weeks after the twisters brought down trees and tore rooftops from homes.
Springfield, West Springfield, Monson and Brimfield all saw major destruction from the June tornadoes, but Sturbridge and Southbridge also sustained pretty serious damage.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030’s Karen Twomey reports
Last week, FEMA included Sturbridge and Southbridge in its federal disaster declaration.
Patrick met with residents affected by the tornado.
He says the outpouring of volunteers has helped victims get back on their feet.
