SHREWSBURY (CBS) – A 7-year-old boy who nearly drowned in an outdoor swimming pool at St. John’s High School last week died Monday night.

Aaditya Basrur died at around 7:30 p.m. at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, according to the Worcester County D.A.’s office.

Basrur nearly drowned in an incident last Thursday around 2 p.m. He was attending Camp Saint John, which is for kids age 5-12, and runs until the beginning of August.

The state’s medical examiner will conduct an autopsy.

The incident remains under investigation.

    So… did he die AS A RESULT OF the ‘nearly drowned’ accident last Thursday?… or did he survive that accident and then die Monday from an unrelated reason?…

    These reports are getting harder and harder to understand.

    I’m assuming he died as a result of the drowning, but it doesn’t really say that. Wow I thought this young man would pull through since it was going on almost a week. What’s up with all these drownings? It does seem like a lot this year.
